Goals

...are good. Now I have my first one for 2009: Tour of the Battenkill on April 18. Registration has been open for all of a few hours and there are already over 100 people in my field.

It's now time to start worrying about getting back into road racing shape. That will begin promptly, right after the wind chill around here rises above 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

For the past 3 years I've wanted to do the Tour of the Battenkill. I'm totally envious.

After doing this race you'll see what I've been saying, road bike + dirt roads = Nirvana. Strike that... There will be some suffering during the race so the experience couldn't really be Nirvana. Could it? :-)

Don't forget to get a set of Continental Grand Prix 4-Season tires in 28 width. They been very good to me on the dirt roads.

Yep, I've raced on dirt before. Fun fun. I'll have to see what size tires my brake clearance will allow.

You should do Cone-Azalia in Michigan this spring. Same deal, just smaller fields and less of a drive.
