I knew it!!

I just called Representative Boehner's Washington office this morning and was directed to someone on his "leadership" department. I asked him if Boehner supports the automobile tax credit I talked about yesterday. He said the Congressman did not have an official position on it yet, but he was pretty sure Boehner supports it.

This level of hypocrisy, although par for the course, is maddening.

Yes, the hypocrisy is maddening--and, unfortunately to be expected. What ever happened to the free market? Living a long ways from work costs a lot and should therefore automatically be a disincentive. And biking to work (and living close enough to do so) saves plenty of money without anyone's getting a tax credit. But cars are ingrained into our culture while bikes (and trains) are not. And everyone loves to do what they've always done (drive) so politicians are happy to pay them money for doing so.

When did cycling blogs get corrupted with politics?
