Why do the dogs look like going a third lap and the riders look like they are bonked after one??

OK, Anna & I have found the sport for Cookie! Just as long as there are no sheep or cattle on the course!:-)
I'm gonna ask Santa for a greyhound for x-mas, to pull my butt around the CX course.
Is it me or does that just not look safe for the dogs?
It's relatively safe if the dog and the rider are properly trained. I would not, however, recommend strapping the family Golden Retriever to a mtb and busting down some singletrack without hours of practice, starting in open fields.
